Lidia Padro, 75, of New Haven, CT died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 with her loving family by her side.
Lidia was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 24, 1950, a daughter of the late Efrain Casull and the late Bernabé Galán. She grew up in Brooklyn and moved to New Haven in 1990.
She is survived by her daughter Natalie Padro of Oviedo, FL, two sons, Daniel Padro, Jr. and Eric Padro of East Haven, eleven grandchildren, Alexander, Amanda, Nicolas and Neena Casull, Eric Padro, Jr., Evan Padro, Yiliana, Eden, Hectór and Ilayden Barrágan, and Aedan González, and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Carlos Casull and Edgar Padro, and one grandson, Alexander Casull.
Lidia was an office manager for Fair Haven School for twenty years, retiring in 2014, and was a longtime member of Star of David Christian Church of New Haven.
Lidia, affectionately known as such, was a beacon of light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was a testament to love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left an indelible void in the hearts of her family, friends, and countless others whose lives were touched by her presence. Let us remember Lidia not for the circumstances of her departure, but for the way she lived her life and the profound impact she had on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
Lidia's hobbies included crocheting and knitting baby blankets, which were her beautiful creations. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cooking and was always sharing new recipes. She was an avid cookbook collector, with her favorite cuisines being Italian, Mediterranean, and Indian. She was very passionate about her coffee, and if you knew her, you would know that she truly enjoyed it!
Lidia found purpose in serving the church and attending Bible studies. She had a hilarious sense of humor and always saw things in a different light, seeing the good in life and people, always putting her faith in God. Lidia always prayed for everyone she knew. Everyone she's ever met would remember that about her.
Lidia loved getting her nails, hair, and makeup done. Her lips were always pinkish-red, and her nails were bright colored. Her world consisted of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she so very much adored. She had a smile that would light up every room she walked into. She will always be loved and greatly missed, and she will always be remembered.
The matriarch and our rock, we can only wish to become like her.
Lidia's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home during visitation time. Burial will be private. washingtonmemorialfh.com

Life will never be the same without you Ima..
Everywhere I go I see something that reminds me of you.
I´m so lost without you..
You weren´t only my grandmother, you were my mother, my best friend.
You had my back whether I was in the wrong or not.
You always made me see the light in things even when I was clouded with negativity.
Please give me the slightest bit of your strength to recover from this.
I love u my Ima.
