Lillian Oakes (Koert) Brasher, age 85, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, with her devoted daughter by her side. Born on August 28, 1940, in Hartford, Connecticut, Lillian's life was a beautiful testament to love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Tammy (Bobby) Wade of Gallatin, TN; her cherished siblings, Abbie Saunders of Naples, FL; Nancy (Steve) Loyd of Naples, FL; Robert "Bob" Koert of Naples, FL; and Edwin Koert of Sun City, FL. Lillian's legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Preston Wade of Nashville, TN; Channing (Peyton) Wade of Hendersonville, TN; Samantha (Steve) Albert of Trumbull, CT; Courtney Combs of Wesley Chapel, FL; and Rodger Jerry Brasher Jr. of Naples, FL. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Julian, Jocelyn, Jett, Jace, Jolene (affectionately known as "The J Crew"), Heidi, and baby boy Wade, expected in April. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Lillian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Brasher; her sons, Robert Jerry Brasher and Rodger Jerry Brasher; her brothers, Jerry Koert and Richard "Dick" Koert; her sisters-in-law, Lee Ann Koert, Esther Lee Koert, Carol Koert, and Brigitte Koert; and her brother-in-law, Jack Saunders.
Lillian's early years were influenced by a move from Connecticut to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, when she was a young child. This is where she would spend most of her life. A proud graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School, Class of 1957, home of the "Flying L's," she was on the swim team and kept lifelong friendships with many classmates. After retiring from the Osceola County School District in Kissimmee, FL, in 2000, Lillian moved to Naples, FL, to be closer to her family. She was known for her love of Bingo, shoes, shopping, and football. But above all, she was known for her heart - compassionate, generous, and golden.
Her family and friends were her world. Lillian never met a stranger. Her unforgettable spirit, strength, and kindness touched everyone she encountered. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend anyone could ask for. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
There will never be another quite like her. She will be deeply missed.

I had the opportunity to work with Lil for several years as well as being friends with her kids! There will never be another Lil! She was funny, caring, tough and would give you the shirt off her back! She raised three great kids and touched many others through her work in the school system! She will be greatly missed!
