Robert Dennis Brasher

Brasher, Robert Dennis "Bobby", age 81, passed away February 6, 2026 in Sylacauga, AL after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Bolton Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Pierce Cemetery.

Born April 22, 1944 in Shelby County, AL, Robert grew up in Chelsea, AL and was a graduate of Vincent High School.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Denver Virginia Brasher and Lugene Turner Brasher; brother, Shawn Jennings Brasher; brother, Wallace Brasher; sister, Reva Brasher Rice.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Marsha McNees Brasher; daughter, Monica Brasher Niven (Gary); son, Robert Dennis Brasher II (Lisa); Grandchildren, Robbie Brasher; Dylan Brasher (Michelle), Brianna Niven Whitehead (Chris); Matthew Brasher; Brantley Niven (Katlyn); Dakota Brasher (Andrea); Gini Brasher Edmondson (Jeremiah); 18 Great grandchildren. Siblings, Ryland "Tooter" Brasher (Jimmie Lou); Phillip Brasher; multiple nieces and nephews.

Robert was a devoted fan of Alabama football. He enjoyed reading the entire newspaper every day. His favorite place to be was outside gardening or landscaping. Other activities he loved were bird watching and coin collecting. In his youth, Robert was a talented photographer.

He worked for many years in maintenance at AT&T (formerly BellSouth). He also worked for Jeffcoat Mechanical at Brookwood Hospital for several years.
