Lillian Mae Crass

Lillian Mae Crass, age 71, of Lake City passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 3, 1952, a daughter of the late James and LaDonna Sisson Stoll.

Lillian loved to crochet.  She was featured in the Albion Fair for extravagant things such as a tablecloth that took 9 months to piece together and a quilt made of roses.  She loved to garden and took pride in being able to bring most plants back to life.  Her grandchildren often took home gardening projects from school and brought them to "nanna's house" so they would live longer.  Lillian also loved getting together with loved ones for family picnics.  Being around those she loved and who loved her brought her the most happiness and was most important to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John H. Crass Jr. who passed in 2010, her son Billy Stanley who passed in 2017; son in law James Wilson Jr. who passed in 2020; two brothers, Bruce Stoll Sr. who passed in 2017 and Charles Stoll Sr. who passed in 1999; and a sister, Debrah Brocious who passed in 2008.

She is survived by her daughter Bernice "Lisa" Wilson Stanley of Lake City; son, Brian (Tracy) Snyder of Plant City, Florida; and daughter, Shawn (Greg) Gruda of Platea; 13 grandchildren, Jimmy Wilson, Brian Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, Jeffery Wilson, Frank Mazola, Nicole Altman, Crystal Mazola, Kayla Snyder, Abigal Snyder, Tiffany Gruda, Gregory Gruda and 21 great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

When I come to the end of my journey and I travel my last weary mile, just forget if you can, that I ever frowned and remember only the smile.  Forget unkind words I have spoken; remember some good I have done, forget that I ever had heart aches, and remember I've had loads of fun.  Forget that I've stumbled and blundered and sometimes fell by the way.  Remember I have fought some hard battles and won at the close of the day.  Then forget to grieve for my going; I would not have you sad for a day but in summer just gather some flowers and remember the place where I lay.  And come in the shade of the evening when the sun points in the sky in the west, stand for a few minutes beside me and remember only my best.

Arrangements entrusted to Burton Funeral Home, Girard.  Services were held at the convenience of the family.
