Lillian Drewry Gwaltney, 84, of Waverly, Va passed away on September 14, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Alma Drewry; husband, Carroll M. Gwaltney; brother, Arthur Drewry; and sister, Anne Monahan.
Lillian dedicated much of her time working at L.E. Pope Grocery, Southside Grocery, and Waverly Drugs. Through her commitment and hard work, she became a familiar and cherished presence to many in the community. She loved her dog, Lulu, an appreciation for all flowers, and enjoyed going to the beach.
Lillian is survived by her daughters, Tracy Beville (Robert), Tara Bragg, and Tanya West; grandchildren, Courtney Bolton (Jonathan), Adam Beville (Arlie), Brittany Buchanan (James), and Landon West; great grandchildren, Owen, Hailey, Birdie, and Winnie; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Spring Hill, Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 506, Waverly, VA 23890. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerfh.com.
