Lillian Ernestine McFadden

In loving memory of a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who was cherished and touched so many lives, Lillian E. McFadden, age 81, of Hancock, Maryland, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving husband by her side on Friday, September 5, 2025, to be with our Lord.
Born Thursday, January 6, 1944, in Amaranth, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Herman H. Mellott and Zella Blanche Mellott Moss.
She attended Hancock United Methodist Church. She worked at the Home Center Furniture in Hancock for many years. She devoted much of her time cooking for the elderly and delivering them personally with her friendly personality along with her beautiful smile. Her homemade vegetable soup was her signature dish to make. She also looked forward to the summertime to plant beautiful flowers. Her time with her family was her greatest joy.
Lillian is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Kenneth R. McFadden, children Anna Douglas- husband Dean, Robin Burnett- husband Donnie, son Dwayne McFadden, six grandchildren- Ashley Wilhelm, Daniel McFadden, Natasha McFadden, Lora Whiteside, Maddasyn McFadden, and Darrian Dzuris. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren and one brother – Kenneth Barnhart, (Bootsie).
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter- Kathy J. McFadden, a grandson- Eric L. McFadden, a granddaughter- Erica D. Burnett, a daughter-in-law- Jackie L. McFadden, and a sister- Linda L. Sowers.
Visitation with the family will be held at Hancock United Methodist Church from 9:30 – 11a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025. A celebration of life will follow at 11:00a.m. Pastor Becki Wessinger will officiate. A meal will follow immediately after at the church in the Upper Room.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lillian’s memory may be made to Hancock United Methodist Church, 170 West Main Street, Hancock, Maryland 21750.
