Lillian Louzona Underwood Tapper, 80, a lifelong resident of D'Iberville, MS passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28th, 2025 in her home. She was the beloved wife of Army veteran George R. Tapper Sr. and together they shared over 57 years of devoted marriage.
Lillian Tapper is preceded in death by her husband George R. Tapper Sr., her parents Charles M. Underwood and MArtha Marie Rush Underwood. Brothers; Charlie (Bo) Underwood, Ralph Butch Underwood, Danny Underwood, and Brian Underwood. Along with her sister, Irene Underwood Bosarge.
Survivors include her children; Bobby and Laura Tapper, Steve and Sandy Tapper, and Elana Tapper. Siblings; Patsy Bailey, Sharon Smith, and Randell Underwood. 11 Grandchildren; Chris & Suzanne Tapper, Robbie Tapper, Paul Tapper, Toni & Howie Walkinshaw, Linsey & Chris Thompson, Amanda & Isaiah Carter, Savannah & Austin Andrews, Tyler& Alexis Mallette, Kenny & Heather Mallette, Steven & Erica Dunkin, Jeremy & Bethany Dunkin. 28 great-grandchildren; Daxton Tapper, Bryce Tapper, Jackson Tapper, Austin Smith, Cole Dickson, Jaxon Dickson, Liam Dickson, Grant Walkinshaw, Grayson Walkinshaw, Emery Thompson, Aiden Thompson, Ryleigh Thompson, Steven Dunkin III, Justin Dunkin, Ally Dunkin, Corinne Dunkin, Malachi Patterson, Copelynn Patterson, Gatlin Patterson, Zoe Andrews, Channing Andrews, Ronan Mallette, Freya Mallette. Great-grandchildren; Westin Case, Kyleigh Mallette, Colter Mallette, Ryatt Mallette and Ayden Andrews. One great-great grandchild; Steven Dunkin IV.
Lillian dedicated much of life to serving others- both in her career and in her faith. She worked as a bus driver for the Harrison County School District and served faithfully as the Secretary Treasurer of the Biloxi River Baptist Church then later retired. She and her husband were also involved in the Perish Printing Ministry, based out of their beloved church. Lillian loved and serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all of her heart. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, which included cooking, for them often, Lillian will always be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother, and forever friend to Eva Fountain. They have been friends since they were young girls. Her hobbies reflected her creativity and warmth-- she enjoyed art, drawing cake decorating, cooking and sewing.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am - 11:00am at Biloxi River Baptist13340 Rene Ave, Gulfport, MS 39503. Services will be held immediately following at 11:00 am. Internment will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery.
