Lillie Joan Allen was born on November 22, 1934 in Gainesboro, TN and she passed away at Cookeville Regional Medical Center on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the age of 90.

Lillie Joan was the daughter of Carlos Allen and Millie Dee Jackson Allen. She was a member of Hurricane Church of Christ and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Alice Floyd and her nephew Lee Allen.

Joan lived life on her terms with a tremendous tenacity and loyalty to friends. As she aged, many just considered her oddities to be that of a sweet older lady. They did not see the turmoil of a life lived through the split second decision to cross a road at the wrong time that would cause her to be thrown into a tree and into a coma as a young teen. During an era of no rehab and institutions, Joan overcame and thrived to live at her home with her mom and then to live independently for years in the small town of Gainesboro. She was an astute judge of character. She loved the Lord and loved going to church. She loved shopping at Dollar Stores and yard sales. She never met a dessert that she didn't like, but most of all she cherished her friends and family. She was an example of strength and dignity in overcoming life's adversities. She will be missed.

Survived by: Great Niece: Jennifer Allen of Smyrna TN.

Graveside services and internment will be held on Tuesday September 9, 2025 at 2:00pm at Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery with Bro. James Bybee officiating.
