One is not gone who touched the lives of others in such a warm and caring way. One is not forgotten who found the way to others hearts and mapped a route to love for eternity So was the life of Lillie Moore Weaver who was born December 12, 1938 in
Jacksonville, Florida to Otis Russell Moore, Sr. and Mattie Betha Moore, both predeceasing her in death. At an early age, Lillie accepted Christ and was baptized at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was on the usher board and was actively involved in BYPU.
Lillie was a product of the Duval County Public Schools, graduating from New Stanton Senior High, Class of 1956. Following graduation, she attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University for a year. Upon leaving FAMU, she married James Weaver, and they relocated to New York City, seeking better job opportunities. She lived in New York for 44 years before returning to Jacksonville in 2005. While in New York, she was employed by Fleet Messaging Corporation, City Bank of New York, and Columbia University in the Accounting Departments. She joined Convent Avenue Baptist Church in 1960 and was a loyal member of the Usher Board Ministry for over 40 years. Lillie was affiliated with the Supreme Council of America in New York Masonic Jurisdiction. As well as a member of the Daughters of Isis Eastern Star and American Legion.
Upon returning to Jacksonville, she joined Bethel Baptist Institutional Church (The Bethel Church) and attended faithfully until Covid 19. During that period, she was diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis and her health steadily declined. Lillie was a world traveler, avid shopper and crossword puzzle enthusiast.
On August 25, 2024, Lillie went on to join her Savior. Her legacy is one of love, service, and resilience. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that Lillie is now reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her in that heavenly home, along with her grandparents, George and Earlene Moore, Frank and Mozella Betha and Lillie Fredrick; and brothers, Walter E. Collins, Otis R. Moore, Jr. and Alphonso L. Moore.
Lillie is survived by her devoted sisters, Betty Moore Donald and Josephine Moore Frazier; nephews, Ralph Michael Collins (Vergie), Ronald Collins, Otis R. Moore, III (Gail) and Benjamin M. Frazier, III; nieces, Gail Robinson (Robert Sr.), Darlene Martin (Wesley Sr.) and Kelly Frazier; grandnephews, Robert Robinson, Jr. (Hien), Wesley Martin, Jr., Benjamin M. Lillie was a beacon of light and love, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace, dear Lillie. Your work here is done, but your spirit will live on.
