Lin A. Herd, 72, of Marysville, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at Memorial Hospital of Union County following an extended illness.
A 1968 graduate of Glenelg High School in Glenelg, MD, she worked as an administrative assistant with Ohio State Highway Patrol office for 20 years. With a quick wit and a sharp tongue, she was also known to occasionally display a "slight bit" of sarcasm. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Nana. Lin was a longtime member of the Marysville Church of Christ, was an avid music lover, enjoyed sewing, fishing and camping, and was formerly very active with the Boy Scouts of America.
Born January 14, 1950 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Arnold, Sr and Laura Virginia (Thompson) Harris. On November 29, 1968 in Elliott City, MD, she married her husband of nearly 46 years, Richard G. Herd, and he preceded her in death on August 26, 2014. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Ernie Harris, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Brian) Hunziker of Columbus; a son, James Herd of Marysville; and her grandchildren, Brian (Sarah) Showalter, Katie and Hannah Showwalter and Abigail Medeiros.
Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Marysville Church of Christ 18077 OH-31Marysville where funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 22, 2022. Jeff Darby will officiate and burial will follow at the Millcreek Cemetery in Raymond. Memorial contributions can be made to Memorial Mobile Meals 500 London Ave. Marysville, OH 43040. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel 621 W. Fifth St. Marysville. Condolences may be sent to the family at
