Ryan N. Hughes, beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 9, 2025, at the Kobacker House in Columbus, following a hard-fought, courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 3, 1988, in Columbus, Ryan touched the lives of many with his strong work ethic and passion for all things automotive.
A 2007 graduate of Marysville High School and Ohio High Point, Ryan's career included two years in research and development at Honda, building upon many years of experience as an auto mechanic. His love for cars was evident not only in his career but also in his personal life, where he took great pride in restoring his 1970 Javelin. His enthusiasm extended to drag racing, riding motorcycles, and spending time outdoors with hobbies like crossbow hunting, fishing, and golfing. Ryan was also an avid gamer, often immersing himself in the world of video games. He also enjoyed music and going to concerts.
Ryan is survived by his father, David Lamb; his cherished children: Lexi Hughes, Ian Shaw, Brylee Shaw, Tristan Hughes, River Dunham, Johnny Dunham, Jack Dunham, and Gwyneth Bennett. He also leaves behind his loving siblings, Patrick Hughes, Leanne Lamb and Christina Lamb; grandparents, Tom and Melissa Lamb; along with his nephews, Daniel Miller and Jasper Lamb; and his previous wife, Brittany Bennett, with whom he remained friends and cared for him during his most recent illness. Ryan’s friendships were equally important, and he will be deeply missed by his best friend, Alex Bogardus, as well as many others whose lives he impacted.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Anne Lamb, and his brother, Daniel Hughes
