It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Marion (Curren) Bailey, our beloved mother and grandmother, who left this world on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the age of 77 after a long battle with kidney cancer.
Linda was born on February 11, 1948 in Waltham, Massachusetts to the late Stella (Scott) and James Curren. In 1963, she married the love of her life, Steven Bailey. In 1977, the couple left the city life and relocated to New Hampshire to raise their children. In 1988, Linda and Steven realized a cherished dream when they built their family home on Baptist Pond in Springfield, New Hampshire, a place that became the center of countless memories for the Bailey family.
Linda's life was defined by her role as a dedicated mother and caretaker to her five children. Her faith and her family were the most important things to her, driving everything she did. She tirelessly invested in the lives of her loved ones. She especially doted on her 10 grandchildren, always striving to spend as much time with them as possible. Her legacy of unconditional love and devotion will be deeply missed.
The following quote was recently found in her family bible and eloquently describes her legacy in her own words: "Steve and I lived and loved completely. We were blessed with being each other's best friends. We loved God and worked as hard as we could for Him and He has blessed us with so much and still walks with me. I flew to the top of the mountain and I have known the best life I can give. I only hope that my children might achieve this as well. Along the way there were many side trips, some good, some not so good, but always God was with me My heart overflows with gratitude when I think of all the blessings."
Linda is survived by her children and their families: David Bailey, his wife Nicole and their children, Alexander, Stella, Jonathan and Elora; Daniel Bailey, his wife Michele and their children, Rebecca Newton and her husband Alex, Isaac, and James; Amanda Mace, her husband Gavin and their children Tyler and Brooklyn; Robert Bailey and his daughter Lydia; and Timothy Bailey. She leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main St, Newport, NH.
A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 11 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
