Linda J. Blome, 81 passed away at 5:55 pm on April 12, 2025 at Aperion Care in Vincennes with her family by her side. Linda was born on December 23, 1943, in Vincennes, IN. She is the daughter of Claude and Marcelle (Shappard) Harris.
Linda dedicated much of her professional life to the automobile parts manufacturing industry, where she served as Purchasing Director for many years. Her expertise and commitment to her work earned her respect among her colleagues and peers. Later, she brought her organizational skills and tender touch to her role as secretary at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she continued to serve her community.
A devoted member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Linda’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a proud recipient of the Brute Society Award and was a member of the American Business Women’s Association, weaving her professional pursuits with her deep sense of community and faith.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Linda found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards, often gathering with family and friends for friendly competitions filled with laughter and joy.
Survivors include her children, Janis Hert of Vincennes, Leigh Anne Eck and her husband Dave of Vincennes, Doug Blome and his wife Gerri of Vincennes, Cris Harmon and her husband Chris of Murfreesboro, TN; her siblings, Debbie Agee and her husband Alan of Vincennes, Larry Harris and his wife Patty of Punta Gorda, FL, Rick Harris and his wife Rita of Hagensport, TX; her grandchildren, Megan Eck, Ethan Eck, Addie Blome, Daniel Noble, Chasity Williams, Brooks Harmon; her great granddaughter, Ellie Williams, as well as several nieces and nephews. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Claude Harris and Marcelle Like as well as two sisters, Diane Harmon and Pam Williams.
Friends may visit with Linda's family from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 2004 N. 2nd Street, Vincennes, IN with Rev. Tony Ernst celebrating. The Blome family requests contributions be made in Linda's name to the Vincennes Education Foundation or St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Blome family would also like to thank Aperion Care and AseraCare Hospice for the care they provided their mother. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is privileged and honored to be entrusted with the care of Linda and her family.
