Linda Border, 72, of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at her home. Linda was born August 14, 1953 in Kinmundy, IL to Eugene and Alice Gigar. Survived by her husband of 39 years Joseph Border Jr. of Centralia, daughters Crystal(Rebekkah) Kee of LaGrange Ky, and Misti(Harry) Wynn of Athens AL. Sisters Terry(Alan) Conant of Salem IL, Patricia Gigar of Kinmundy IL, Peggy(Dwain) Shuler of Alma IL, and Barbara(Bruce) Lauritsen of Guthrie Center, IA. Sisters-in-law Connie(Paul) Lee of Central City IL, and Jennifer Watkins of Nashville IL. Grandchildren Andrew and Ocean Wynn, and Jarrid Kee. Great Grandson Bentley Wynn. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Alice Gigar. Linda was a retired Sgt of 25 years from the Centralia Correctional Center. After retirement Linda enjoyed planting flowers her favorite being Hibiscus, gardening, and baking all kinds of pies and cakes especially for the boys at the Centralia Lodge, many arts and crafts. She enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and her beloved dog Chesney. A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date. In memory of Linda, memorial donations may be made to and will be accepted by the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street in Centralia, IL 62801 (618) 532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Border family.
