Linda Botten Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Spooner Funeral Home on Feb. 8, 2026.
In the comfort of her home, Linda Botten, age 71, passed away on Thursday, February 5th.

Linda was known as an excellent cook who was always looking for a new recipe to wow people at her parties. She opened her home for magical Christmas parties where the sound of her laughter echoed throughout the house as friends and family enjoyed her welcoming presence and all of the delicacies she had prepared. Then there were her Packer parties…a more laid-back menu, but her Hormel chili dip recipe soon became a fan favorite for all occasions, and the Bloody Mary bar she would set up was second to none. Packer parties at her home led to some unforgettable journeys to Packer games in Green Bay. Let's just say, a mattress in the bathroom is something you don't forget. At over 35 softball games, her chocolate martinis were always a hit! Linda's ability to bring fun and laughter to any setting was truly one of her greatest assets.

Linda was a beautiful lady who always dressed with style and flair~ her fashionable clothes and jewelry often getting compliments from strangers, but it was her beauty inside that people found soon after meeting her. She was warm and friendly and could engage someone she just met in a conversation like she'd known them for years. You'd hear her laughing with someone at a bar and think she'd run into an old friend, when really it was someone she had just met.

Linda was born in Darlington, Wisconsin and moved to the Superior area in 1973. Linda worked at the National Bank of Commerce for 42 years. There she found life-long friends with whom she created countless memories on shopping trips and other fun times together.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Eleanor Foley, and a brother, Anthony. She is survived by her husband, Don Botten, her children and grandchildren: Andrea Sweeney, Neveah Sweeney, Matthew, Cooper and Milo Milinkovich, Dan (Kalli) Owen, Ramsey, Rory Botten, Lisa Botten and JP and Iyanna Smith. Her brothers and sisters: Lucille Foley, Denny Foley, Edward Foley, Pat Foley, Robert Foley, Andy Foley, and Kay Werner. And her beloved dog, Mack.

As we mourn her loss, we celebrate the fun-loving joy she brought to the family.

We will celebrate Linda on Tuesday, February 10th at Country Peace Church (4694 County Rd A, Superior, WI) with visitation beginning at 10:00 and the funeral at 11:00. A luncheon will follow at Rapids Riverside Bar & Grill.
