Linda Bowen, 83, of Milford, beloved wife of the late John Bowen Sr., passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025. Born on June 29, 1941 in Milford CT, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret Egan.
Linda was a woman who cherished her family above all else. She had a special affinity for Vermont, where she found peace, solace, and happiness in the beautiful landscapes. Gardening brought her joy; she spent countless hours nurturing her plants and watching them bloom. Linda also had a gift for conversation, always ready to chat and make others feel seen and at ease.
Linda is survived by her children, John (Liza Taracena) Bowen Jr., Alan Bowen, and Gregg (Katie Holzer) Bowen; her beloved grandchildren Lizi, April, Haley, and Libby, who will always remember her as their "Yaya"; and her nieces and nephews, Paul, Jim, Tom, and David Lenahan; Charlie, Sheila, and Paula Egan; and Kathy Hurley, who fondly called her "Aunt Lindy." She also leaves behind many dear great nephews and great nieces, and her lifelong friend from Bayview Beach, Clare Coots.
Linda was predeceased by her husband, John Bowen Sr.; her parents, Margaret and Lawrence Egan; in-laws Meryll and John Bowen; and siblings, Sheila Egan, Natalie and Paul Egan, Margaret (Greta) and Michael Lenahan.
The family extends a special thanks to the Carriage Green staff and Caring Hospice of Stamford for their compassionate care. To honor Linda's wishes, all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to National Multiple Sclerosis Society or St. Jude's Research Hospital.
