Robert Pilot Obituary
Surrounded by the family he so deeply loved, Robert Byrnes Pilot went home to rest on August 27, 2025, He lived a life defined by kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family.
Robert was born on May 18, 1938, in Vernon, CT to Dorothy and William Pilot. He grew up in Vernon and Southington, CT, and he graduated from Southington High School in 1956. He had a long and wonderful career in IT and retired as Director of IT for United Technologies in 1993. He was a Past President and Past District Governor of the Connecticut Lions Club. Bob had a great love for music, golf, art, traveling and loved telling jokes.
Robert was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Jeannette for 65 years. They met on July 4th in Bristol RI while marching in the 4th of July Parade and have been together ever since.
Robert was a devoted father to his two daughters, Roberta Jones (Thomas) of Uxbridge MA and Susan DeFrank (Richard) of Oxford CT. He was a loving Grandfather to Matthew Jones, Andrea DeFrank, and Michelle Poulos (Greg). Robert was blessed to have two great-grandchildren, Delanie Jones and Julia Poulos.
Robert is predeceased by his mother Dorothy, father William and great-granddaughter. Charlotte Poulos.
We find comfort in knowing that Robert's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford.
