Linda Catherine Brickey

Linda Catherine Holbrook Brickey, 84 of Ashland, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, March 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 17, 1941, in Boyd County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Clyde F. and Douglas Riffe Holbrook.

She was instrumental in starting Rose Hill Christian School and Daycare and was a retired Kindergarten teacher there with 25 years of service. She was also a member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church where she volunteered in numerous children's ministries.

If you needed honesty, she gave it. If you needed a laugh, she delivered. And if you needed prayer, she had you covered, sometimes all in the same conversation.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Ralph D. Brickey, a brother, Clyde R. Holbrook, a sister, Diane Tweddell and a son in law, Dave Davis.

Survivors include three daughters, Beth Davis of Rush, Gina (John) Bush of Ashland and Megan (Chris) Koewler of Clarksville, TN; four grandchildren, C. J. (Sarah) Wamsley of Conway, SC, Johnny (Shaina) Bush of Ashland, Catie (Steven) Hunt of Rush and Kyle (Sarah) Bush of Williamsburg, KY; five great grandchildren, Owen and Zayne Hunt of Rush, Jensen and Joslyn Bush of Ashland and Kayden Bush of Williamsburg, KY.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Tuesday March 31, 2026, at the STEEN FUNERAL HOME, 13th STREET CHAPEL by Pastor Matt Shamblin and Blake Heron. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
