Linda Cary Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home on Dec. 2, 2025.
Linda Ann Cary, 76, of Paris, passed away at 10:55 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Haven of Paris, in Paris, IL.

A visitation is scheduled from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Pastor Nate Alexander to officiate.

Linda was born in Paris, Illinois on June 5, 1949, the daughter of the late James R. and Betty Jean Whitton Perkinson. She married Clark Cary on June 16, 1967, at the Horace Baptist Church in Horace, IL. He survives.

Linda attended the First Christian Church in Paris for many years. She was a long-time and active member of both the Edgar County Historical Society and the Edgar County Genealogy Society. Linda enjoyed being outside watching her humming and blue birds, mushroom hunting, and fishing. If Linda had to be inside, she would spend her time sewing or working on one of her many craft projects. One of her more famous projects was a suit she made for Clark. A suit that Clark still cherishes to this day.

She is survived by her husband Clark of Paris; her sisters: Cindy McDaniel of Paris, Barbara Wentz of Paris; Half-sister: Tamara Perkinson of Clinton, In; her brother-in-law Doug (Jennifer) Cary of Paris; nieces: Paige McDaniel (Paul Pishnak) of Nineveh, In, Jessica (Scott) Legault of Greenville, Il, Danielle (Zack) Hollingsworth of Paris; nephews: Justin (Kimberly) Cary of Paris, Joshua (Katie) Cary of Paris; great nieces: Jaylynn Legault, Kendall Lynn Cary, Ellie Hollingsworth; and great-nephew Talon Hollingsworth.

Linda is preceded by her parents, and brothers-in-law: Chuck McDaniel and Bill Wentz.

Memorials in honor of Linda may be made to the Edgar County Animal Shelter, Edgar County Genealogy Library, or the Edgar County Historical Society.
