HERKIMER-Linda Ann Comstock age 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, March 5, 2023 at Faxton-Saint Luke's Medical Center, New Hartford. She had the support and comfort of her loving family by her side.
She was born on July 22, 1947 in Little Falls, daughter of the late John P. and Doris Helen Freely McGuire. A lifelong Herkimer resident, she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. For many years she worked as a Case Worker Aide for the Herkimer County Department of Social Services. She retired in 2011. On March 24, 1972, she was united in marriage to Martin "Dutch" Comstock. They made their home in East Herkimer. To all who knew her she was a caring, kind and generous lady. She will forever be remembered for her quick wit and determined way. She was happiest when she was at home with her friends and family, especially her cherished granddaughter, Kelsey Jean. She will be sadly missed.
Surviving is her devoted husband of fifty years Martin "Dutch" Comstock, a son Martin Comstock Jr. of Whitesboro, her brother, Timothy McGuire of Ilion, a granddaughter, Kelsey Jean, two nephews Tim and Josh McGuire, several cousins and her best friend for seventy years, Jeannie Richards.
Calling hours for Mrs. Comstock will be held Thursday from 4:00 until 6:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. A Funeral service will follow immediately after in the funeral home. Interment in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Little Falls will take place later this spring. Linda had a special place in her heart for dogs, so memorial donations to the Herkimer County Humane Society in her memory would be appreciated.
