Sue Comstock Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Weeks' Dryer Mortuary - Tacoma on Aug. 1, 2025.
It is with profound sadness yet deep respect that I, Dennis, her devoted husband, commemorate the life of Sue Comstock, a woman whose radiant charisma and unwavering loyalty were the cornerstones of our family. Born in Mexico, Missouri, on July 26, 1945, as Carolyn Sue Jones, Sue was a woman who lived her life with a loving heart, compassionate spirit and endless laughter. Her witty charm and loving nature were a beacon of light for all who knew her. She passed away on June 24, 2024, leaving a void that can never be filled. Sue's life was a testament to the saying, "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain."
Sue was an individual who shone with a strength of character that was as inspiring as it was endearing. She dedicated 35 years of her life in faithful service to our family-run legal practice, where she served as the Office Manager until her well-deserved retirement in 2023. Her loyalty and commitment were the backbone of our success. Sue's love for life could be seen in her many hobbies. She found joy in cooking, baking, golfing, gardening, and canning fresh vegetables from our garden. She was also artistically inclined and spent many tranquil hours immersed in arts and crafts. However, what mattered most to Sue was her family. She was the heart of our home, the glue that held us together, and the compass that always pointed us in the right direction. To quote Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Sue was one such beautiful thing, a treasure that we were privileged to hold in our hearts.
Sue is survived by her loving family: daughters Tina (Kalaf) Gearheard, Evelyn (Kalaf) Modahl, Stephanie (Kalaf) White; sons-in-law Brian Gearheard, Dennis Modahl and Todd White; grandchildren Tyler Hegstad, Chelsea (Hegstad) Juarez, Sevryn Modahl, Emaline Modahl and Macayla White; granddaughters-in-law Katie Hegstad and Samantha Modahl; grandson-in-law Colton Juarez; and great-grandsons Jetson Juarez, Jaxton Juarez and Easton Hegstad. She was preceded in death by her father John Jones, mother Thelma Jones, and her dearest Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Ben McAllister. Sue's love, guidance, and grace continue to live on through each of us.
In honor of Sue, we invite you to share your memories and upload photos of her on the memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a beautiful tribute to a life lived with love, compassion, and unyielding devotion. Sue's legacy will forever be etched in our hearts, and your shared memories will help keep her spirit alive.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 27, 2024, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at Cockrell Cider Farm in Puyallup, Washington (https://www.cockrellbrewing.com/#homepage).
