Linda Lou Criffield, 80, passed away on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, in St. Joseph.
Linda was born on Dec. 4, 1943, in Paw Paw, to the late John Melburn Davis and Gertrude Elizabeth (Klinkers) Davis.
Along with her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her grandson, Auston Tyler Baker, and brother-in-law, Chester "Ky" Tortorelli.
Left to cherish the memory of Linda is her husband of 63 years, Larry Lloyd Criffield; children: Lorri (Darin) Rife, Lonny Criffield and Larinda (Chris) Rockafellow; grandchildren: Danyelle (Tony) Black, Karlee (John) Anible, Lorrin (Dusten) Smith and Jaelin (Seth) Vantilburg; and siblings: Jim (Debbie) Davis, Donald (Sharon) Davis and Karron Tortorelli.
Linda's zest for life was unmistakable; known as 'Granny,' she reveled in the joys of dancing, globe-trotting and the simple pleasure of a beer with friends. She embarked on adventures from Alaska to Hawaii, traveled from Jamaica to the Dominican Republic and roamed from Germany to Switzerland, creating memories that spanned continents.
With a passion for the outdoors, Linda was an avid fishing partner and an accomplished mushroom hunter. The open road was her sanctuary, often found driving with no destination but the company of her driver of choice. She left a legacy of exploration, taking her grandchildren on celebratory trips following their high school graduations.
Linda's life was a tapestry of connections, always visiting family and friends, her joy magnified by the arrival of 10 great-grandchildren. Fortunate to have her siblings close, Linda's presence was a gift to her family, and her spirit will forever dance in the hearts of those she loved.
Memorial contributions in honor of Linda may be made out to Hidden Acres, 50582 Pleasant St. Dowagiac, MI 49047.
Visitation for Linda will be from noon-1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, with a Memorial Service to be at 1 p.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel, 61453 M-51, Niles.
