Linda Daugherty

PETERSTOWN, WV – Linda Patricia Daugherty went to be with her Savior on Friday, January 2, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Randall Daugherty and Iva Broyles Daugherty; her sisters, Virginia M. Daugherty, Ruth D. Dalton; brother, Raymond Daugherty; niece, Donna Kay Daugherty; and nephews, Michael C. Dalton and William Duane Daugherty. She is survived by her niece, Debra L. Dalton; four great nephews, Austin Daugherty, Steven Dalton, Timothy Dalton, and Matthew Dalton; one great niece, Lauren Dalton Hickman; two great great nephews, Gabriel Hickman and Asher Hickman; and one great great niece, Elena Daugherty.
Linda was a lifelong member of the Peterstown Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught the senior high Sunday School class for many years. She taught at Peterstown High, Narrows and Giles High Schools, mainly chemistry, physics, and science. She was the Honor Society sponsor and took many teams to the WDB7 Quiz Bowl.
She was an avid outdoors person, enjoying duck hunting, fishing, horses, her cats, and wildflower gardening. Even before she retired, she was extensively into genealogy.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Country View Assisted Living for helping Linda live the last decade.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Peterstown Municipal Park Project (Town of Peterstown, PO Box 487, Peterstown, WV 24963), the Peterstown Missionary Baptist Church (277 Market Street, Peterstown WV 24963), or to the Peterstown Cemetery (PO Box 125, Peterstown, WV 24963).
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor John Peña officiating. Burial will follow at the Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
