Linda M. Dechert, 83, of Jonestown, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Joe S. Dechert. Born in Lebanon on January 17, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Snavely. For many years Linda owned and operated her own daycare center. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg, the Jonestown American Legion and the Jonestown Perseverance. She is survived by her sons: Scott A. (Toni) Smith of Lebanon, Kenneth J. (Marlene) Dechert of Fredericksburg, Daniel R. (Teresa) Dechert of Lebanon and Joel R. (Khrista) Dechert of Annville; brother Delmer Kessler, Jr., of Lebanon; sisters: Paula Sattazahn of Lebanon and Patricia Brandt of Jonestown; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters Lori Kline and Susan. A memorial service will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a visitation with the family at 8:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Inurnment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
