Linda Rose Dolan, age 78, of DeGraff, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in Urbana.
Linda was born on September 13, 1946, in Tiffin, Ohio to parents Robert and June (Schwab) Mellott. She would spend her time in several different towns all over Ohio, including Columbus and Delaware, before settling down and spending the last 35 years in DeGraff.
In September of 1969 Linda would go on to marry the love of her life, her husband of 55 years Michael Dolan, whom she met at a Valentines Day party in Columbus shortly after he had returned from Vietnam. They would go on to have two wonderful sons and three amazing grandchildren.
Linda worked in various receptionist roles for Delta Psychology, Jackson Livestock Center, The Harley Jackson Auctioneer, and Delaware Area Recovery Resources (DARR) in Delaware. When she wasn't working Linda enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including glass cutting and stained-glass art, pottery, sewing, and most importantly gardening. Along with her hobbies Linda was also an avid collector of glass pieces and dishes. She also loved to collect Hummels and Snowbabies figurines and was a member of the Garden Club in DeGraff, which is part of the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs.
Linda was also a big sports fan and loved to watch and cheer on the Browns, Detroit Lions, and of course the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Linda was an animal lover, she especially loved cats but had a huge heart for the local wildlife as well. Over the years Linda put in the love, the care, and the work to make her backyard and wooded area behind her home a Certified Wildlife Habitat. She took care of all kinds of animals and even raised a baby squirrel named Rocket.
As much as Linda loved animals, sports, and gardening, her proudest achievements were her boys, and her grandkids. Linda was a very proud mom who loved her family, she was feisty, strong, kind, and will be fiercely missed.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Robert and June.
Left to cherish Linda's memory is her husband of 55 years Michael Dolan; sons Andrew (Bobbi) Dolan of Ostrander and Scott (Tracy) Dolan of Ashley; grandchildren Anna Dolan, Travis Dolan, and Dustin Bullington; and In-Laws Patricia (Ralph) O'Dell and Barbara (Hughey) Deal.
Friends may call on Wednesday February 5, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 PM at The Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr. Delaware, Ohio 43015.
