Linda L. Eifrid, 87, of Paulding passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at the Antwerp Manor.
Linda was born in Fort Wayne on May 3, 1938, a daughter of the late Kathleen (Elder) & Walter Hechker.
Linda was a dedicated and compassionate woman who spent much of her life caring for others as a nurse, having studied nursing at St. Joe College. In her younger years, she proudly earned the title of Fort Wayne City Tennis Champion. Later in life, she found joy and community through her involvement in the Alter Rosary Society. Linda was also a talented and creative soul, spending many hours crocheting, knitting, and sewing beautiful pieces for those she loved. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, which brought her the greatest joy and fulfillment.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, James Eifrid, to whom she was married June 11, 1960; her children; Michael (Brenda); Monica (Todd) McDaniel; Maria (Gordon) Miller; Matthew (Dot Barnes); Marlo (John) Braun; & Max (Diane); siblings, Sandra Maldeney & Larry Hechler; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; & 2 great great grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Hechler, & grandson, Isaac Miller.
Viewing is Sunday, August 24th from 2-4 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 12th at 10 AM at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 203 W Townline St, Payne Ohio 45880.
She will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are to the Antwerp Manor Activities Fund.
