Linda Elaine Eng, 79, of Flandreau, SD, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025, surrounded by family and friends, at Avera Dells Area Hospital in Dell Rapids, SD. A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau, SD. The family will be present for visitation one hour prior to the memorial service.

Linda Elaine Robertson was born on August 3, 1946, in Yankton, SD to Warren and Ruth (Halverson) Robertson. When she was one year old, the family moved to Springfield, SD where her father taught school. During that time, she was chosen as "Homecoming Queen for Children" by the local students.

In the first grade, her family moved to Bancroft, SD before settling in Flandreau, SD in 1957 where Linda continued her education and graduated with the Class of 1964. Following graduation, she answered her life's calling by pursuing a career in nursing. She trained at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, earning her Registered Nurse degree in 1966. Driven by her deep compassion and commitment to patient care, Linda continued her education, achieving a postgraduate certificate in gerontology and a Master of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration.

Nursing was not just her profession-it was her vocation. Throughout her decades-long career, Linda touched countless lives in hospital, home health and long-term care settings. She served with dedication as a registered nurse and later as a director of nursing. She concluded her career at Riverview Health Center in Flandreau, SD leaving behind a legacy of care and professionalism.

On September 7, 1967, Linda married the love of her life, Curtis Eng. They were blessed with two sons, Jeffrey and David. Together, Linda and Curtis were active members of the Jaycees, building friendships and supporting their community. She also shared her musical talents as a member of the Alumni Band.

Beyond her career, Linda found deep fulfillment in her hobbies, which she pursued with the same dedication and excellence that defined her nursing. She was a passionate gardener, cultivating beauty and abundance from the earth. She loved to can the fruits of her labor. With practiced hands, she excelled in sewing and knitting, crafting pieces for her family with both artistry and love. She embraced her role as a homemaker with pride and joy, enriching her family's life through her many gifts and talents.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Curtis Eng, DeSmet, SD; her sons, Jeffrey (June) Eng, Arlington, SD, and David (Stephanie) Eng, of Volga, SD; siblings, Bruce Robertson, WI, Beth Hanson, Flandreau, SD, Lauri Robertson, AZ, and Mike Robertson, WI; grandchildren, Matthew, Hannah, Alecia, Alyssa, Haley, Jake, Austin, and Avery; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Ruth Robertson.
