Linda Denise Epps was born on April 7, 1967, in
Bridgeport, Connecticut, to her loving parents, Ernest Asbby Epps Jr. and Annie Joyce Epps, and Her early childhood was filled with the joy of seaside breezes and the warmth of family, growing up in Marina Village and cherishing moments at her favorite place, Seaside Park.
In 1976, Linda, her mother, and her sister, Annette Epps Reid, relocated to Suitland, Maryland, where Linda flourished. She attended Andrew Jackson Middle School and later graduated from Suitland High School in 1985, earning the title of "Best Dressed" in her senior class. A glamorous diva with a love for fashion, Linda's elegance and sparkle were unmatched. Linda's professional journey was equally impressive. She served in various roles within federal government agencies and built a remarkable 24-year career with Potomac Electric Power Company (Pepco). She also earned her Maryland Real Estate license, showcasing her drive and versatility.
Her greatest pride and joy came with the birth of her beautiful daughter, Kayla Imani Little, on October 16, 1997. Linda's love for Kayla was boundless, and she never missed an opportunity to express how proud she was of her daughter. A woman of grace and unwavering faith, Linda was deeply rooted in her Christian beliefs, finding solace in sermons and scriptures that spoke of God's love and promises. She also had a lifelong passion for the arts, particularly acting and theater-a dream she carried with her since childhood.
Linda was a beacon of perseverance and hope. After raising her daughter, she accomplished a long-held goal by graduating with an Associate of Arts: Arts and Sciences Degree in Social Sciences with a certification in Human Services: Alcohol and Drug Counseling in May 2023 from the College of Southern Maryland. This achievement reflected her commitment to growth and her compassionate heart.
Linda loved her peace, often embracing quiet moments of reflection and self-discovery. Her unwavering passion for life, coupled with her belief in herself even in the face of challenges, inspired those around her.
On January 7, 2025, Linda was called home, leaving behind a legacy of elegance, resilience, and love. Linda is survived by her mother Annie Joyce Epps, daughter Kayla Imani Little, Sister Annette Epps Reid (Michael Ray Reid), Brother Gregory Scott Ward, nieces Iesha Kristina Purl Epps, Danielle Moore, Shante Barkdale, Keisha Ingram, nephews Durell Moore and Danelle Ingram, and a host of family and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Linda is predeceased by her father Ernest Asbby Epps Jr., her grandfather Ernest Asbby Epps Sr., her grandmother, Ida Launia Hines Epps, her grandfather Chester Taylor Sr., her grandmother Lillie Horne Taylor, nephew Greg Ingram, and host of family and friends.
Linda will be remembered as a radiant soul who lived with purpose, faith, and a love for life that touched everyone she encountered. May her light continue to shine through the lives of those she loved.
