It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Linda M. (Nelson) Fournier, 75, of AuSable Forks, NY. She was surrounded by her loving family until the end on July 1, 2024.
Linda was born the youngest of six, to Henry and Martha (Nolan) Nelson in AuSable Forks, NY. Linda attended school in AuSable Forks.
Linda was loved and respected by many, many family members and friends. She dedicated her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Left to remember Linda is the love of her life for the past 56 years, Walter Fournier, Sr., her children and their spouses, Maggie Fournier-Pope (Jerry Marking), Michelle (Jody) Perkins, Wendy (Aaron) Connell, Walter (Jody) Fournier, Jr. and Vickie (Kevin) Hart. 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Linda loved to cook and bake, especially for her family and extended family and friends. She also loved to read, especially about the Amish. However, her favorite pastime was visiting - her door was always open, and the coffee was always on for anyone who wanted to stop in - day or night. If her curtains were open, she was ready for a visit.
She is preceded in death by her parents - Henry and Martha, parents-in-law - Wilfred and Jennie Fournier, her brothers, Jack, Tom and Frederick Nelson, sisters Mary and Sally Fournier, son-in-law Mark N. Pope, in-laws, Julia, Marge and Grace Nelson, Marie (Farrell Reed), Maude (Sam) Coon, Lena (Burt) Rondeau, Frances, Charles, Louis and Margaret Fournier, several nieces and nephews.
In honoring Linda's memory, visitation will be Friday July 5, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 6th, 2024, at 11:00 am at Holy Name Church. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service at her family plot in St. Matthew's Cemetery in Black Brook, NY. A reception will be held at the Fournier Homestead at 372 Silver Lake Rd, AuSable Forks, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda's honor to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or to the Elmore SPCA, PO Box 686, Peru, NY 12972.
Let us come together to celebrate the life of Linda M. Fournier, she would want us to reminisce and visit about our happy times together. May her spirit continue to fill our hearts with love and kindness. Rest in Peace sweet angel.
