Linda Adair Gaines passed away peacefully at her home on November 28, 2024 with her faithful Molly by her side at the age of 85. She was the daughter of the late James Waltman and Elizabeth Shaw Webb.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her life was dedicated to her family. She had a joy for live helping and talking with others. She was a lifelong diehard UGA Bulldog fan you could always her her shouting “Go Dogs”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Smith Gaines; son, John Andy Gaines.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Brown (Chuck); grandchildren, Nicholas Gaines (Angela), John atthew Brown (Conner) and Wendy Gaines; great grandchildren, Haley Nicole Gaines, Brooklyn Elizabeth Gaines.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 2:00 P M in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, EAST, Athens with interment to follow at Winterville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held the evening prior, on Saturday, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
