Linda Lee Humphrey, 81, of Abbyville, passed away peacefully at her home on September 21, 2025. She was born on October 17, 1943, in Hutchinson, to the late Howard R. and Vara L. (Gagnebin) Reed.

Linda worked for years as a cleaner for many homes and offices in the Abbyville area. She also assisted her husband, Frank, with his business, Humphrey General Contracting. Linda found immense joy in gardening and cooking, and her pies on special occasions were a favorite among friends and family. However, the true center of her world was always her family: her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

On January 2, 1970, Linda married the love of her life, Frank L. Humphrey, in Port Allen, Louisiana. He survives her. She is also survived by their five children: Melanie Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Deborah (Sam) Ratliff of Claremore, Oklahoma; Angela Colley Douglas of Hutchinson; Cris (Julie) Humphrey of Wichita; and Chad (Lyndie) Humphrey of Pensacola, Florida. Her legacy continues through her 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and many other extended family members. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Glenna Arneson, Shirley Schoonover, Patsy Moylan, Tom Reed, Joe Reed, and Deenie Hammer.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Abbyville Cemetery.

Friends are invited to sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Goodwill Industries, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas 67501.
