Linda Anne Johnson (she preferred to be known as "Lin"), age 72 of Cannon Falls, passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 9, 2023.
Lin was born the oldest child of 14 to Walter and Margaret (Stanger) Gabrelcik on April 23, 1951 in Watkins, MN. She graduated from Eden Valley-Watkins High School in 1969.
She found her soulmate and traveling partner in Benny Johnson, a young man from neighboring Kimball. One of their first of many adventures was to the Boundary Waters, and after that trip, they knew they were meant for each other. They married on October 3, 1970 in Watkins. They resided in Brooklyn Center until moving to Cannon Falls in 1982. They found the perfect place to raise their family. Linda was the Nelson Scofield VFW Post manager from 1982-2013, when she retired.
Lin loved the outdoors, fishing, bird and deer watching, and traveling with Benny. She enjoyed painting on canvas and ceramics, and was known for her soup and chili making expertise! She even rode her bike across the state of Minnesota. For the past 7 years, they have wintered in Niland, CA at the Fountain of Youth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Margaret Gabrelcik; and siblings, Rick Gabrelcik and Debbie Landwehr.
She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her husband of over 52 years, Benny; her children, Scott (Karla) Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Angel (Kelly) Zier and Jessi (Jerad) Blanck, all of Cannon Falls; 11 grandchildren, Thomas Johnson, Chris (Michelle) San, Alex San, Ashley Vieman, Cody Johnson, Bailey Johnson, Kenzie (Cole) Rother, Devon Zier, Jordynn Zier, Mayson Blanck, and Aubree Blanck; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lurene Lunde, Sandra Gabrelcik, Gary (Kerry) Gabrelcik, Karon (Lynn) Hokanson, Kevon (Kim) Gabrelcik, Randy (Carol) Gabrelcik, Rhonda (Greg) Donabauer, Jeff (Natalie) Gabrelcik, Jodie (Brian) Gagnon, Tracy (Jamie) Tougas, and Terry Gabrelcik; brother-in-law, Bill (Imelda) Johnson; her best friend, Patti Stabner; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
