Benson, NC: Mrs. Linda Smith Peterson Johnson, age 78, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC, surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00PM, Monday, June 24, 2024 at Holly Grove Advent Christian Church, Benson, NC. Revs. John Foister and Steve Lawson will officiate.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Sampson County, NC to the late Samuel H. Smith and Eva Boone Smith. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Grayson Caudle, and a sister, Mary Royal Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a retired bookkeeper with Marshall Johnson Construction, INC in Benson, and was also a homemaker. She was a dedicated member of Holly Grove Advent Christian Church, Benson, NC, where she served in many capacities.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Marshall Johnson, children, Greg Peterson and wife, Angie of Raleigh, NC, Dr. Rodney Peterson and wife, Tonya of Roxboro, NC, Angie Wheeless and husband, Neil, and Crystal Stanley and husband, Ashley all of Benson, NC, grandchildren, Ashlyn Morgan, Sydney Wheeless, Mattie Wheeless, James Peterson, Eva Cate Peterson, Emma Peterson, Adalen Peterson, and Asher Stanley; great-grandchildren, Christian Murray, Aiden Caudle, and Callan Morgan; sister, Jane Hollingsworth of Goose Creek, SC; many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:45AM-12:45PM, Monday June 24, 2024 at Holly Grove Advent Christian Church 2050 Holly Grove Church Road, Benson, NC 27504.
Mrs. Linda’s wishes were to Glorify God and not her, and ask that you send no flowers, no matter what, and direct your memorial to Holly Grove Kid Min, and Teen Min 2050 Holly Grove Church Road, Benson, NC 27504, Camp Dixie 373 W. Bladen Union Church Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306, or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements by Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
