On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, Linda Dale Jones, loving sister, aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt, was reunited with her parents in heaven. She was 70 years old. Born the fourth of five children, in Nashville, Arkansas to Herman “Dale” Jones, and Ella Gladys “Missie” Jones (McCrary) formerly of Nashville, Arkansas, Linda inspired a lifelong love and advocacy for her parents to work with those with special needs.

Linda loved to watch and actively participate in classic westerns and fancied herself to be quite the cowgirl. She would regale acquaintances with her exploits which often closely resembled recently viewed episodes of Gunsmoke, Bonanza, or the Waltons.

Linda always wanted to be decked out in matching outfits with sparkles and enjoyed wearing various necklaces, rings, and watches. Her stuffed animals were special friends in whom she would confide. Linda had a strong affinity for hamburgers with an ice-cold Diet Dr. Pepper, and we’re sure she’s enjoying one right now in heaven, but probably with a regular Dr. Pepper since “Little Big Sister” isn’t there to “boss her around” anymore.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her siblings, “Big Brother” David Jones (Sandy) of Fairview, Tennessee, “Big Sister” Cathy Walker, of Sandy Springs, Georgia, “Little Big Sister” Barbara Evans of Benton, Arkansas, and “Big Little Brother” Steven Jones (Belinda) of Jessieville, Arkansas; five Nieces, One Nephew, 10 Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews, and one Great-Great-Niece.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at County Line Cemetery, 3323 Highway 371 W, Nashville, AR 71852. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM that day at Latimer Funeral Home, 115 E. Hempstead Street, Nashville, AR 71852.
