COHOES Linda J. Langley, 71, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Collar City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late John J. Krutka, Jr. and Jennie Rogozinski Krutka.
Linda was a lifelong resident of the city and worked for Cohoes City Schools as a secretary for over 25 years until retiring. She then went on to assist her son at his restaurant in Lake George where she was always a bright presence for staff and customers alike.
Her love of the Weather Channel earned her the distinction of being an "Honorary Meteorologist" who would unfailingly call friends and family with the most current weather updates.
She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, her willingness to help others, and just being a sociable person who would gladly sit and listen when needed.
Linda was the wife of the late Robert W. Langley, Sr.; the loving mother of Robert W. Langley, Jr. of Cohoes and the late, Derek Langley; the stepmother of Roalynda Langley of Cohoes; the grandmother of Ryan and Jayden; and the sister of the late John J. Krutka III. She is also survived by several nephews; her beloved cat, "Sister," and she is once again reunited with her cat, "Brother."
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home from 9:30-11:30 prior to the service.
In recognition of Linda's love of animals, please consider making a donation to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
