Linda (Gladney) Legeza-Campbell passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025 at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving children. She was born on July 22, 1948, in Toledo, OH, to Richard and Ruth (Farrell) Gladney. She lived most of her life in Toledo and was proud to be a graduate of Waite High School where she was a majorette. She married her high school sweetheart, Anthony J Legeza, Sr., on July 9, 1966 and built a beautiful family. Linda was a devoted mother, cherished friend, and a light in the lives of all who knew her. Her passion for cooking ethnic cuisine, and caretaking was evident in her daily life, always wanting to make sure everyone was fed and provided for. Linda spent countless summers with her family camping and on their boat, enjoying the waters of Lake Erie and Put-in-Bay.
Linda dedicated her life to her family, raising her three children with unconditional love and care. She loved sitting poolside watching her grandkids and never forgot to call every one of them to sing "Happy Birthday" each year. She found joy in the simple moments-sharing laughter with friends, spending time with loved ones, especially her grandchildren, and indulging in her love of shopping. Her warm spirit and social nature made her a beloved presence in every room she entered. As a socialite in her nursing home, Linda was named the 2024 Ms. Hickory Ridge. A title she accepted proudly.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Richard and Ruth (Farrell) Gladney, her brothers, Richard Kohn and Terry Gladney, her former husband, Anthony J. Legeza Sr., and father of her three surviving children, Tonya (Don) Nagle, Cindy (Jeff) Waite, and Anthony J. Legeza Jr. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Donnie and Joey Nagle, Megan, Allie (Jacob Smith) and Emily Waite, Veda, Maycie, Chase and Brinley Legeza; bonus grandchild, Fred (Kate) Hasenfus and their child, John David. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John A. Campbell, Sr. and survived by stepchildren, Lorie Campbell-Davis, John A. Campbell, Jr. (Kelly), Debbie (Joseph) Nudi, Vickie (Rick) Vermilyea, Connie (Jeff) Szymanski; thirteen step-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren; her niece, Sylvia Burke, who gave her unconditional love and support; many other aunts, uncles, and cousins she loved dearly; and special friends, Tammy Cooke, Sue Dunnigan, and Nina Ridgley. Linda is also survived by her chihuahua, Lulu, who brought her so much love and companionship over the years.
Linda's kindness, love, and unwavering support will be deeply missed but forever treasured in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched, the lessons she shared, and the love she gave so freely.
Family and Friends are invited to the visitation at Urbanski's Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025. The funeral mass will be celebrated the following morning, Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, OH. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
