Linda L. Longest, 81, of Milford passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025 at her residence. She was born on August 14, 1943 in Cissna Park, a daughter of Francis and Marjorie (Farney) King. Linda married Jerry W. Longest on October 21, 1961 in Prairie Green Twp., Illinois and he preceded her in death on February 4, 2010.
Linda is survived by her six children, Lori (Randy Luecke) Longest of Iroquois, Cheryl (Kelly) Smith of Milford, Alan (Anita) Longest of Alvin, James W. (Penny Galloway) Longest of Hoopeston, Tricia (Bill) Huff of Milford, and Jeffrey (Kristie Johnson) Longest of Fowler, Indiana; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jade (Derek) Rieches- Dallas, Decker, and Myiah of Watseka, Derek Smith of Lafayette, Indiana, Kristen (Charlie Reeder) Smith- Waylon, Iris and Neil Champion and Madyson Reeder of Milford, Danielle (Jake) Wright- Olivia and Kinsley of Bismark, Cody Longest of Danville, Hannah Longest of Bradley, Tanner Longest of Paxton, Lindsey (Zach) Castonguay of Cissna Park, Lauren (Kaiden Clingenpeel) Huff of Cissna Park, James (Cheyenne Wilken) McCullough of Milford, Zachary Galloway of Altamonte Springs, Florida; and sister-in-law, Betty Jean (Jimmie) Huckelby of Wellington.
Besides her husband, Linda was preceded in death by both of her parents; three brothers, Ronald, Glen, and Kenny; and one sister, Margaret Bird.
Linda enjoyed spending time with old friends, traveling, reading, and loved flowers. She also loved her Green Bay Packers. Linda cherished time spent with her family, especially her children, grandkids, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Knapp Funeral Home in Milford on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to the 12:00 p.m. funeral service with Rev. Brent Zastrow officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Milford Ambulance Service, Crossroads Youth Center, or Iroquois Memorial Hospice.
