Linda Jane Manes, 60, of Charleston, MO passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri
Linda was born on August 03, 1964, to James and Pansy (Johnson) Smith in Dudley, Missouri. She married Greg Manes on December 23, 1983, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Linda was a spiritual person and believed in the healing power of prayer. She worked at Southeast Correctional Center in Charleston for 22 years. She was a hard worker and thoroughly enjoyed her job and the people she worked with. Linda wasn't the adventurous type but when it came to trying her granddaughter MaKenzie's food creations, she was never afraid and always willing. She was known to be a very caring and kind-hearted person. She loved her family fiercely and her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will truly be missed.
Linda is survived by her husband of 41 years, Greg Manes; daughter, Heather (Maithem) Alshebani; three sisters, Gail Beck, Carol Cara, and Angela Spencer; brother, Steve Smith; three grandchildren, Madison Manes, MaKenzie Manes, and Austin Manes; great-granddaughter, Averie Manes; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; son, Adam Manes; brother, James Smith Jr.
Gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 10:00-11:00am. Memorial service will follow beginning at 11:00am. Burial will take place at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
