Linda Maxon Obituary
Linda Lee Maxon (Hilling), 86, of Morgantown, WV, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late John Hilling Sr. and Etta McDonald Hilling.
Born on May 7, 1939, in Kingwood, WV, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Maxon, and her daughters, Melissa Maxon and Kristy Maxon Wolfe.
She is survived by her children: Cindy (David) Johnson of Lawtey, FL; Jack “Jay” Maxon of Morgantown, WV; Mindy Riley of Morgantown, WV; Shawn Maxon of Morgantown, WV; and Timmy Maxon of Morgantown, WV. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Linda loved searching for shark’s teeth on the beach and cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation for friends and family will be held at Nicholson Chapel, 1326 Summers School Road, Morgantown, WV on Tuesday, December 9th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Following the visitation, cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home.
Inurnment will take place at a later date at Summers Cemetery and Nicholson Cemetery, both in Morgantown, WV.
