Linda Mae McTee, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023, at HCA Florida Osceola Hospital at the age of 79. Linda was born on February 7, 1944, in Celeste, Texas, where she spent most of her life before moving to Lake Wales, Florida, to be with her husband, James McTee. They had been married for 61 years.
Linda was a proud native Texan who lived in Farmersville and Carthage, Texas, for most of her life. She worked at the Clayton Store and Walmart Jewelry department for many years, but her greatest joy came from caring for her family. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put her family's needs above her own.
Linda had a variety of interests and hobbies, including watching Dallas Cowboy football, reading books, and watching scary movies. She loved going to the beach, engaging in political banter, and spending time with her family and friends. Linda had an infectious energy and zest for life, which made her look decades younger than her age, even in her last days.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Martin and Denzil Ramirez, her sister Sara Adase, her son Joel McTee, and her beloved dog kids Crickt, Gidget, among others.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, James McTee, of Lake Wales, Florida, her daughter Stephanie Booth and husband Randell of DeBerry, TX, daughter-in-law Angie McTee of Longview, TX, sister Jackie Hunter of Beckville, TX, grandchildren Ashley Barron, Lindsey Jones and husband Corey of Tatum, TX, Jaron McTee and wife Stephanie of Springdale, AR, Hannah Cole and Benjamin Cole of Longview,Texas and great-grandchildren Taelor, Mason, Jessup, and Aiden.
A Life Celebration service in Texas will be planned soon to honor Linda's life and celebrate the memories she created with her family and friends. Linda will be remembered as an intelligent, energetic, and kind soul who touched the lives of all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
