William A. McTee
“Bill”
Age 83 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday morning, March 31, 2024 at Lightways Hospice.
Born February 5, 1941 in Joliet to Thomas and Lorraine McTee and attended Joliet Township High School, Southern Illinois University, and received a Masters from Governors State University. He was passionate about teaching and spent his career teaching middle schoolers in Bolingbrook and Romeoville. In his free time, he loved his dogs, gardening and fitness. He took up marathon running in his 30s and his best time was 3:29 in the Chicago Marathon.
He is survived by his wife: Jackie McTee; his son: Joshua McTee, and his dog: Nico. He is also survived by his brothers: Mike (Diane) of Plantation, Florida, Bob (Betty) of Channahon, and Rick (Janice) of Minooka. Other survivors include his sister-in-law: Janet Chignoli (late Grant) of Dallas, Texas and nieces: Cindi Gray, Wendi Koleszar (Todd), Shayne Gadea (Jorge), and Erin Davenport (Sonny).
Bill was preceded in death by his parents: Tom and Lorraine McTee and his beautiful daughter: Danielle McTee who passed on August 10, 1993.
Per Bill's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held.
