Linda Mitchell

Linda Jean Mitchell-Simpson, 73, passed away December 4, 2025, at Lima Memorial Health System.
Linda was born December 23, 1951, in Punxsutawney, PA, to John and Ruby (Kauffman) Geist, who preceded her in death. She married Larry Simpson, who preceded her in death.
Linda was a 1969 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School, and she went on to further her education at Clarion State College with a bachelor's degree in teaching. She was currently working part time in the Activities Department at Shawnee Manor, and she worked at the Bluffton Child Development Center where she wore many hats and helped wherever they needed. Linda was an avid crafter, and it was a huge part of who she was. She loved to crochet and make doll clothes and dolls. She often attended and participated in craft shows where she could share her talents with others. Linda also very much enjoyed spending her time volunteering and she will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her children, Matthew (Amanda) Mitchell and Esther (Matthew) Mitchell; granddaughter, Zoe Mitchell; sisters, Sue (Doug) Fisher and Virginia Geist; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Geist and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her brother, John Timothy "Tim" Geist and her former husband, Donald Mitchell.
