Linda Mooy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lenz Memorial Home - Lacon on Dec. 9, 2025.
Linda Lee Mooy (Moline), of St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025. She was born on November 9, 1950 in Galesburg, IL to Milo R. Moline Sr. and Susan O. Moline (Elburg).
Visitation will be Saturday December 13, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Lenz Memorial Home, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Lacon Cemetery, where she will rest near her beloved parents.
Linda grew up in Lacon, Illinois with her parents and seven siblings. She spent her school years at Mid-County Jr. and Sr. High Schools in Lacon & Varna, Illinois, and participated in several extracurriculars such as Chorus, Pep Club, and Girl Scouts. She graduated in 1968 before moving to St. Louis. In 1984 Linda received her Associates in Liberal Arts from St. Louis Community College, and in 1990 graduated from Washington University with a Bachelor's of Science in Organizational Use of Human Resources.
She proudly dedicated over 30 years to the Federal Government's Civil Service. She started her career at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and later moved on to the Department of Defense's National Geospatial Intelligence Agency.
Linda was well-known to have a heart of gold and was always incredibly generous to those around her. In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her garden of flowers, watching true crime shows, and keeping up on current events. She also liked to go to yard sales and local thrift shops, where she made many friends over the years. More than anything, though, she was most happy when spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two sons, Hans J. Moline, of St. Louis, MO, and Dirk (Susy) Mooy, of Bettendorf, IA; Two brothers, Peter Moline, of Lacon, IL, and Jim Moline, of Casper, WY; Two sisters, Wanda Streitmatter, of Sparland, IL, and Sue Morgan, of Lacon, IL; Eight grandchildren Taylor Moline, Jake (Taylor) Moline, Isaac Mooy, Beth Mooy, Grace "Casey" Moline, Oliva Mooy, Chloe Moline, and Joel Moline; One great-grandchild Caroline Moline; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Her parents, two brothers, Bill Moline and Dick Moline, and one sister, Harriet Cowell, preceded her in death.
