Lindsay K. Johnson

Lindsay K. Johnson – Koch, 48, of Varna Illinois, died on November 9, 2025 at her home. She was born on February 16, 1977 in Spring Valley to Rodney and Nancy (Sharkey) Koch. Lindsay graduated from Mid County High School in 1995 and went on to become a cosmetologist in Tennessee. Lindsay was a talented cosmetologist who poured her heart into her work. She had an undeniable passion for hair. She loved to color, create, and help others feel beautiful inside and out. Her creativity and confidence inspirited those lucky enough to know her.
Lindsay is survived by her three beloved children, Hayleigh (25), Ryder (20) and Luke (13); her loving mother Nancy Sharp of Bloomington Illinois; father Rodney (Sharon) Koch of Varna; sisters Heather (Chris) Perez of Miami Florida, Ashley Gibson of Slidell Louisiana, Whitney (Chris) Wada of Evergreen Park Illinois; grandmother Marilyn Sharkey of Spring Valley Illinois; and 8 nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents William and Joan Koch, and grandfather Ronald Sharkey. She also leaves behind countless friends and loved ones who will forever cherish her spirit.
To her friends and family, Lindsay was more than just loved, she was their biggest cheerleader. She had a rare ability to see the best in people, to lift them up, and to make them feel seen and special. Lindsay was beautiful, inside and out, and her memory will continue to shine through all the lives she touched. Lindsay will never be forgotten. Though she's gone from our sight, she will remain in our hearts.
Funeral services for Lindsay will be held on Friday November 14 2025 at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon at 11 AM with visitation held one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Lacon Cemetery immediately following the services.
