Scott Spellious Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lenz Memorial Home - Lacon on Oct. 9, 2025.
Scott Spellious, 52, of rural Sparland Illinois, died on October 5, 2025 at his residence. Born on March 17, 1973 to Stan and Linda (McBroom) Spellious, he married Laurie Stowe on July 2, 1995 in Las Vegas. Laurie died on October 15, 2023 and Scott missed his friend, partner, and wife.
Scott is survived by his son Jordan (Sophie) Spellious of Sparland; daughter Larissa (Eli Lishman) Spellious of Lacon; mother Linda Monier of Henry; grandchildren Blayne, Jaxson, Lenox, Riley; sisters Jessica (Nathan) Kocher of Henry, Janelle (Steve) Vogel of Henry; mother-in-law Sharon Koehler of Henry; and grandfather Lloyd McBroom. He was also preceded in death by his father Stan Spellious and father-in-law Leland Stowe.
Scott graduated from Sparland High School and immediately climbed up on a roof. Throughout the 90s he worked for Hosler Roofing and various other roofing companies, only to come back to work at Hosler again. For the next 10 years, he perfected his knowledge of the roofing style that Hosler's are known for. Scott and his wife Laurie purchased Hosler roofing from the owners eight years ago, carrying on the excellent business that he had helped create.
Scott loved the Spellious Farm; where he'd spend most of his time with family and friends, working on farm toys, watching and playing with the grandkids. He made sure to always have something for them to ride around on, dirt bikes, four-wheelers, go carts. Scott will be remembered for being a great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Cremation rights have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a future date. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Scott, please visit our floral store.
