Linda June Conkle Parrish, age 78, of
Griffin, Georgia, was called home on Sunday, September 7, 2025, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family at her residence. Born in Hampton, Georgia, on June 9, 1947, Linda's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the deep love she had for her family and friends.
Linda was the daughter of the late Eugene Conkle and Annie Bell Wallace Conkle, and she was the youngest sister to Ann Arrendell, Ellen Henderson, Edna Hensler, and Audrey Tuck, as well as her brothers, Thomas Conkle and Robert Conkle, all of whom preceded her in passing. She shared a special bond with her dog, Beau, who was also her loyal companion until his last day.
For many years, Linda dedicated herself to serving the State of Georgia McIntosh Trail Division before retiring to spend more time pursuing her passions and being with her family. She was a devoted member of the Orchard Hill Baptist Church, where she found strength and community.
A collector at heart, Linda found joy in the simple pleasure of her Hallmark ornament collection, which she lovingly curated for over three decades. Her fascination with lighthouses was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of her guiding presence in the lives of those she loved. Linda's kindness was a constant, as genuine in her public life as it was within the walls of her home.
Christmas was Linda's favorite time of year, a season of joy she celebrated with an open heart. She took great delight in watching hummingbirds and cardinals' flit about her yard. Linda's passion for photography allowed her to capture precious moments with her family, creating a legacy of memories that would endure for generations. An avid reader, she could often be found with a book in hand, lost in other worlds and times. Her love for the classic Western series "Gunsmoke" . She was always reminiscing about her father-in-law, affectionately known as "Granddaddy."
Linda's survivors include her beloved husband of 60 years, Roy L. Parrish, Jr.; her daughters, Juli Parrish Moore (Kenneth) and Jennifer Parrish; her cherished grandchildren, Parrish Blake Adams, Anna Leigh Adams, Kyleigh Moore, and Sydney Moore; her brother, Jimmy "Buddy" Conkle; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and her beloved cat, Stevie. Each of these individuals was touched by Linda's grace, compassion, and unwavering support throughout her remarkable life.
Visitation for Linda June Conkle Parrish will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Orchard Hill Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow in the sanctuary, providing a time for loved ones to gather, reflect, and celebrate Linda's life, with Pastor Nelson Grist officiating. Linda will be laid to rest at Sunny Side United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In her passing, Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, a collection of memories, and a life lived with purpose and joy. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but the light she brought to this world will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
