It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Linda Sue Pender, age 78, on July 19, 2025. Linda was a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, Grammy, aunt, and friend. She brought joy, laughter, and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Deeply devoted to her family, friends and faith, Linda leaves behind a legacy of generosity, kindness, grace, and beauty that will remain in our hearts forever.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Linda spent her formative years in Michigan. She pursued her studies at Michigan State University before beginning a career that took her around the world. As a flight attendant for Trans World Airlines (TWA), she traveled extensively, with San Francisco and Los Angeles as her home bases. These experiences sparked her adventurous spirit and gave her the opportunity to explore a wide array of cultures.

Linda met Dave Pender in Los Angeles, and after they married, they settled in Seattle. There, Linda pursued a new chapter as a small business owner, operating a beloved women's clothing boutique in Seattle's iconic Pioneer Square. The couple later moved to Maryland, where they spent more than 35 years, and raised their daughters, Kim and Missy. During this time, Linda dedicated herself to her family, while also working in Admissions and Development at the Ivymount School, and volunteering with the American Cancer Society, offering support to ostomy patients.

In retirement, Linda and Dave made their home in Plymouth, Massachusetts, to be closer to their treasured grandchildren. Together, they embraced their shared love of travel, exploring the world, often with friends, and creating lasting memories. Throughout her life, Linda was known for her quiet strength, radiant presence, heartfelt generosity, and love for hosting family and friends. Her warmth and compassion touched countless lives, and her memory will remain a guiding light for all who knew her.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Hustead, and her brother, Jay Hustead. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Dave; her daughters, Kim (Charles Haley) and Missy (Corey Prout); her mother, Lois (age 99); her sister, Kay; her adored grandchildren, Austin, Nora, and Quinn; her niece Jennifer (John Grills) and their children; along with Dave's extended family. We will forever cherish and deeply miss Linda's elegance, resilience, and loving spirit.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, at St. John's Church in Hingham at 11:00 AM followed by a luncheon at the Cohasset Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Linda's memory to the South Shore Food Bank or Womanade at The Pinehills.

Rest peacefully, sweet Linda. You will forever be in our hearts.

Linda was a gift to Ivymount in so many ways. Her generosity of spirit, her ability to make everyone - staff, students and parents alike - feel welcome and valued, and her important sense of humor, truly enriched my experience there. She will always be remembered as someone who defined "the heart of Ivymount". Stephanie deSibour
