Linda Marie Pennington, 75, of Oakland died on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at her son's home. Born on March 21, 1948, in Bayard, WV, she was the daughter of the late Fritz and Gladys (Rodeheaver) Anthony.
Linda enjoyed camping, dancing and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She will be remembered as a devoted wife. Linda loved to talk to everyone and made sure they knew how she felt about them. She loved to dance, joke and have fun with family, friends, and strangers who soon became her friends.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles Adam Pennington, Sr.; her son, Charles Adam Pennington, Jr. and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Tyler Graham, Jordyn Bennett and husband Dillon, and Haley Judy; great grandchildren, Jake and Myles Graham, and Kamryn Bennett; sisters, Lois Meade and husband Bob of Norwich, NY, Carol Adams and husband Bob of Bayard; brothers in law, Chuck Culp of Bayard, Bob Pennington and wife Shirley of Jacksonville, FL, Gary Pennington and wife Vicky of Morgantown, WV; sisters in law, Susie Merkle of Oakland, Jane Truitt and husband Floyd of Oakland, Janet Sisler and husband Paul of Conroe, TX, and Donna Dodge and fiancé Roger Tise Sr., of Hedgesville, WV; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Shirley Cooper and husband George, Donna Cosner and husband Wardney, and Ruby Culp; and brothers in law, Robert Merkle, David "Jake" Pennington and Bill Pennington.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM. A celebration will be held at 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.
