Linda Kathleen Perdue was born July 13, 1952 in Waynesville, Missouri. She passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 72.
Linda was united in marriage to Robert Alan Perdue on September 20, 1980. They were blessed with two sons, John and Jacob. The family stayed in the Waynesville area.
Linda's compassionate and caring personality led to her lifelong career in nursing. In 1974, Linda graduated with the first Licensed Practical Nursing Class at the Waynesville Technical Academy. Throughout her nursing career she worked at several medical facilities including Pediatric Burn Unit at the University of Missouri Hospital of Columbia, and Pulaski County Memorial Hospital.
After 38 years in the nursing field, Linda retired in 2012 from the Waynesville R-VI School District where she held the position of High School nurse for 17 years.
Following her retirement, Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed following her granddaughter, Lillian's academic and athletic achievements. She especially enjoyed watching MeTv and posting her daily Facebook memes.
Linda spent her life being a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Her smile, kindness, and sense of humor will be missed by all.
Linda was always willing to share her medical knowledge with her family and friends.
Linda will be sadly missed, but lovingly remembered by her son: John Perdue of St. Louis, MO; granddaughter: Lillian Perdue of Edgerton, KS; sisters: Sharon Zarcone, Tina King, and Monica Zarcone all of Waynesville, MO; brother Richard Zarcone (Shannon) of Waynesville, MO; several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her son: Jacob; and parents: Salvatore & Velma (Wallace) Zarcone.
As per Linda's wishes, a small family gathering will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Linda Perdue to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
Nurses' Prayer
Give me joy and laughter, to lift a weary soul; pour in me compassion to make the broken whole. Give me gentle healing hands, for those placed in my care; a blessing to those who need me. This is a nurses' prayer.
