Linda Jane Redwine of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on October 1, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with complications from lung cancer.

A celebration of life garden party will be held in her memory at 2:00 p.m. on November 15, 2025, at her home.

Linda was born on December 14, 1940, in Lexington, North Carolina. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1959, where she was named Citizen of the Month her senior year by the City of Lexington. In addition to this title, she also held the title of Class President her senior year of high school. She went on to attend the Women's College at the University of North Carolina, where she trained as a secretary. Linda was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church. In 1961, she married Lt. Col. Robert G. Burns, with whom she shared two children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. They remained married until 1998. Linda later married David Redwine in 2005, and the two shared many years together until 2019. Linda had a lifelong passion for animals. She was a member of the Greater Kansas City Arabian Horse Association and served as treasurer for the Midwest Egyptian Arabian Horse Alliance. She was also a proud member of the Old English Sheepdog Club of America, where she received a lifetime achievement award for her sheepdog, Shadow, a top-producing stud dog. She showed sheepdogs across the country, proudly earning the title "Best in Show." At home, she lovingly cared for her donkeys and horses for as long as she could, even well after her diagnosis. In addition to her love of animals, Linda owned a well-respected grooming shop, where she built lasting friendships with many of her clients. She also had a gift for interior design and was once featured in a local home magazine for her talents. She cherished hosting gatherings in her beautifully decorated home, creating warm and welcoming spaces for all who visited. Linda was a strong, vibrant, and determined woman who found joy in creating beauty-whether through her gardens, her home, or the time she dedicated to her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Spending time with her loved ones was one of her greatest treasures.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John E. and Mary Elizabeth Surratt Lohr, and her beautiful granddaughter, Tessa Elizabeth Burns.

She is survived by her beloved dog, K.C.; her brother, Larry Lohr, and his wife Joy; her children, Allyson Nutt and husband Kevin, and Dr. Cartland Burns and wife Jill. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Tara Beller and husband Blaine, Kayla Nutt, Leah Corona and husband Anthony, Sara Burns, Ana Medina Burns and husband Jason, and Niall Burns; and her great-grandchildren Logan Corona, Lily Beller, Evie Corona, and soon-to-arrive Levi Corona. In addition to family, she leaves behind a large amount of very close friends.
